Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
Re: Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
Well, I fell asleep before the end.
Lots of good players available. There's several players left that I'd be ecstatic to get, and lots of players that are highly rated that are either not good fits or they are not significant needs. Definitely a spot to trade down.
Best available that fit needs:
Josh Jones OT
Denzel Mims WR
Zach Baun LB/ edge
Best available that are good fits, but not necessarily needs:
AJ Epinesa DE
Yetur Gross Matos Edge
Xavier McKinney S
Jaylon Johnson CB
Guys I'd be happy with if we trade down a bit too far and miss on the above:
Tee Higgins WR
Grant Delpit S
Christian Fulton CB
Lloyd Cushenberry OL
Lucas Niang OT
Antoine Winfield S
Jeremy Chinn S/LB

Re: Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
right on... I also see Jones, Mims, or Baun as their target, I'd prolly opt for Jones and try to snag our LB in the 3rd, like Gay for example

Re: Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
Personally I think there's only 2 plays here at 33
1st would be to draft Jones OT Houston, from what I've read he has the highest blocking % of any offensive tackle in the draft but the knock on him he's not in a power 5 conference. Something to chew on however is that he played at the Senior bowl and had a very impressive showing there. He also had the highest winning % during 1 on 1 time. My gut feeling says we are leaning this way and it would be a solid move for us considering Oline is a need, and he's one of the best available.
2nd would be to trade back, if you don't want Jones, or you think you can trade down and still get the guy you want then you trade down. We could use an extra pick for depth and you see who falls where you can trade. Personally there's still a lot of WR's I'd consider, and some good Oline help I'd consider. At this point value picks for LB later in the 3rd and 4th.
I do not want to see us take Baun and I fear they think he's the second coming of the Watt brothers out of Wisconsin.

I hope they can trade the pick. But, it's going to be hard. You're going to have to find someone that don't want to risk a player falling to them.
I'm not seeing anyone that fits description right now. maybe Carolina ?

Right now I'm leaning towards Grant Delphit.
Re: Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
i think his only 'red-flag' is something about his arm length, but aren't Jonah's arms even shorter?Goodberry @JoeGoodberry
Josh Jones received a 92.1 Run blocking grade from PFF. That's the highest of the OTs.
Oh... His 89.2 pass protection grade is also the highest.
His Zone (2nd) and Gap (1st) run blocking are near the top also. Gap is far and away the best.
3 year starter with over 2,300 snaps.

Re: Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
From what I've read was his combine stats didn't look good. More as his cone drills and bag work wasn't as fluid as they would have liked. I feel like maybe this is our pick though since he was a senior bowl outstanding performer.TheBurn wrote: ↑Fri Apr 24, 2020 8:56 ami think his only 'red-flag' is something about his arm length, but aren't Jonah's arms even shorter?Goodberry @JoeGoodberry

Re: Rounds 2 & 3 Thread
I talked myself into McKinney. By most mocks he was slated to be a middle first rounder and now sits for us at the top of the first. They guy is strong against the run. He can cover receiving backs, slot receivers and tightends. The best part from what I read is that he is a leader on the field. I read where someone was pushing him to be drafted at 13 by San Fran because of his leadership. Safety is not a need. I never support drafting a safety this high. But if this guy is as billed, we should grab him without a second thought. He could potentially improve our backers and corners with his ability to help cover.
