AJ McCarron Released

Just a note that AJ McCarron has been released by the Raiders.
His QB coach in Oakland last year is current Bengals OC Brian Callahan.
Might mean nothing

Wouldn't object to bringing him back at the right price. If he's smart, he tries to find one more opportunity with no entrenched starter. Follow the Ryan Fitzpatrick model.

There is also the possibility that Callahan didn't care for what he saw in McCarron last year and wouldn't want to bring him back.
He's definitely better than anything we had in a backup last year. My worry is that bringing him in might take away the possibility of grabbing a QB in next year's loaded QB draft.

It is too bad the browns f-up that deal. It would have been great to get two second round picks for him and the browns most likely would have signed him to a big contract. Setting them back a couple of years.

Instead, we'll still be stuck with him...
