i am somewhat surprised by this, but he may end up a lot more involved in the new offense...

Source: The #Bengals are signing RB Giovani Bernard to a two-year, $10.3 million extension. He gets a raise to $5.9 million this year and $11M over two, including a $600K guaranteed bonus due in March. Locking up a team leader and playmaker through 2021.

Agreed, this is a shocker compared to other needs. RBs are fairly easy to come by and we already have the AFC leading bell cow in the barn. I would have gone shopping at other positions first.

Good move, he's a good locker room guy and a solid producer when given the opportunity. Glad to see this happen, he's a good overall dude.
