My guess is maybe the Bengals were shocked that Lock fell that far and really did feel they wanted to make the pick and have him sitting the bench for a year. And just looking at all the prospects in this years draft after the top 15 there seems to be a drop off. But the 26- 50 guys all look to have the same grade. Although sixth round picks aren't usually going to bring anything other than special teamers and back ups you need to do something different.

I don't mind the trade. Still lots of good players I like. Irv Smith, Jaylon Ferguson, Jace Sternberger, and Paris Campbell.

Hopefully they use the extra picks to trade back into the 3rd.

If Irv is still there at 52 I'll shut up. But the chatter over on CincyJungle is that we lost 40 value points on that trade. So I hope there is a bigger plan here. Most of those 6th and 7th rounders are just camp bodies.
