AJ Green carted off the field
Re: AJ Green carted off the field
This is why I don't like counting on WR that are over 30. There are some WR that have big seasons after that age but many careers take a nose dive.
It took all of one practice for the Bengals to get their first major injury scare.
During Saturday’s camp session in Dayton, wide receiver A.J. Green suffered a foot injury that led to him being helped to the sideline by trainers. He was then taken off the field on a cart for further examination.
Perhaps the most concerning sign was Green showing visible frustration as he left the field:

from what I've been reading it seems to be a left ankle sprain, out for the pre-season, but should be good for week 1

Should be "horrible" for week one. Wont know the offense, no sync with Dalton and the other WRs, and not in football condition. Then you have other issues like Billy Price....not ready to go. It just sucks that we cant seem to get these guys on the field and keep them there.

ouch... so much for that
ESPN's Adam Schefter reports A.J. Green will "likely" be sidelined for six to eight weeks.
The Bengals were hopeful that Green would miss only four weeks with a low ankle sprain, but an MRI revealed torn ligaments in his left ankle. With a six to eight week timetable for his return, Green is looking doubtful for the season opener and possibly beyond. Green is still a high-end receiver when healthy, but he has missed at least six games in two of the last three seasons...

Like I said, no practice in this new offense he will need at least a couple weeks to get ready. So count on 10 weeks, meaning a week 3 or week 4 return. Find a way to get Trent Williams on board ASAP, solve the online issue immediately and pray John Ross is the second coming of Ocho Cinco.

News on AJ sounds like it may be heading down the surgery road. If that happens, 12 weeks + depending on severity of the tear. And Zac classified Ross as day to day. Which pretty much means they will put him out there by the end of next week so he can go ahead and completely tear his hammy and be out for the year, if not his career.
This season totally blows chunks.

Ian Rapoport ✔ @RapSheet
#Bengals WR AJ Green underwent a minor ankle procedure this morning to clean it out after his injury, sources say. The timeline should remain the same and Week 1 is still possible.

Barring no setbacks, he will come back for a few plays in Week 3 against the Bills and then start week 4 against the Stoolers. You heard it here first. (unless Sky was thinking that, then you heard it there first, because I stole his line)
