Trade

Post by HogsFan » Wed Apr 01, 2020 10:58 pm

What scenario would make trading #1 to the dolphins worth considering?

Would you consider this?

#1 Burrow, #33 Ruiz OG, #65 Jabari Zuniga Edge (CBS Sports 7 round mock)

OR ...

1. Pick Burrow
2. Watch Wash pick Chase Young
3. Miami trade #5 and #39 to Detroit for #3 and pick Tua
4. Miami trades #3 Tua QB, #18, #56, and #70 for Burrow

Bengals draft:
1st Round: #3 Tua QB, #18 Chaisson EDGE (avail per 2 round ESPN Mcshay)
2nd Round: #33 Jackson OT, #56 Terrell Lewis OLB (avail per 2 round ESPN Mcshay) %
3rd Round: #65 Brandon Aiyuk WR, #70 Malik Harrison LB

At what point do they seriously consider an offer?

I sorta thought the same thing. At this point it would take all 3 firsts, their second and a first next year. Burrow is not Matt Stafford (lets hope not anyways). With what Burrow could be capable of we need to rob someone seriously of their existing furture in first and second round picks.
I was crazy back when being crazy really meant something.

Nice to see you post Hog.

I may be dreaming or just caught up in all the hype but I really believe Burrow is special. Like Joe Montana special.

Knowing what you know now about NFL history would you trade Montana for Phillip Rivers and some high draft picks....?

No scenario would I trade away #1 with Burrow's sitting there. Reason being if someone, or multiple teams are willing to trade that much for this guy why are we willing to give up the chance to have that same guy. I understand value and all that but can someone really put a value on a Franchise QB that pans out?

Every year teams draft QB's in the first but there's still only so many Tom Brady's, Aaron Rogers, ect. If you have the chance to grab a guy like that you have to take it.

I think if you didn't make the FA moves they made and they were committed to a full rebuild with a new staff, I'd consider the trade. The way it is now, they are near maxing out their cap to win now with a young QB. To do that, you basically need a sure thing and that's Burrow.
There's too much uncertainty with Tua and the other QBs, especially since there is limited contact due to Covid19.

Now another thing to consider is business. This team has damn near hit rock bottom with fans. The potential of getting Burrow is primarily what's gotten fans excited again. No matter what it offered, a significant number of fans would mutiny if Burrow is not the pick.

At this point I think I might be one of them if that happened.

For the past few months I pondered the trade scenario. Miami has made no secrets about wanting a quarterback in the draft. Most notably one named Joe Burrow. While I think the trade would be beneficial in the longer term if, certain things fall into place. The first being that Herbert or Tua falls to us in the 5th slot. That isn't going to happen. I don't care what the mocks say. I think 3 QB's go in the top 5. With that being said draft Joe Burrow. Go to bed and wake up get ready for day 2.
