Per Schefter, The Steelers are releasing Pro bowl Guard David DeCastro. He had a bit of a down year last year with nagging injuries, but still ended up with an overall grade of 64.1 and a pass blocking grade of 79.5.

The Steelers had Trai Turner in for a visit last week and will save 8.75 mil for releasing DeCastro

The Bengals should already be on the phone. Mike Hilton was all about recruiting people to Cincy after he signed. Get him on the phone with his former teammate.

Doesn't change my opinion that the Bengals should call him. Played better on a bad ankle last year than any of the Guards currently on our team.

DeCastro has been having his ankle evaluated recently, sources said. He’s had issues with it for quite some time. Had surgery on it before last season. He’s evaluating his future.

The #Steelers have now agreed to terms with FA G Trai Turner, per agent @DrewJRosenhaus, giving him a 1-year deal. An immediate replacement for David DeCastro.

For those who aren't following the story on the net, DeCastro says he suffered from bone spurs last season and needs surgery to fix the issue. He has been quoted as saying he needs to see how the surgery goes before making a decision on playing again.

He's also been quoted as saying he's fine with the idea of retiring too if it comes to that.

So bottom line fringies.....don't get your hopes up.
