Albert Breer @AlbertBreer

The Bengals are trading a seventh-round pick to Chicago for RB Khalil Herbert, as Herbert himself indicated here. Scary injury for Zack Moss, so Cincinnati needed depth at the position.

We should have never let Maxx Crosby leave Cinci, just call the Raiders and let them know he can go ahead and stay here and get ready to play Thursday.
On that we can agree. We still needed Herbert (or similar) because with Charlie Jones down, we have no depth at KR. Herbert can also cover some special teams and KR. He may not be a productive fit. But a fit that is needed nonetheless.

It's another free agency season where the Bengals do little to fill their holes with a team capable of competing. I don't know when this changes. A DT or DB would have been nice. I saw several capable ones go for very little. Quite depressing.

After tonight that could be a blessing. I'm highly pessimistic on this one.

Bengals claimed WR Isaiah Williams off waivers from the Lions.

Williams joined the Lions as a UDFA this year and cracked the team’s 53-man roster at the end of camp. He did not play until Week 8 when he caught two passes for six yards. Williams was cut after Week 9. He gives the Bengals an extra depth option with Tee Higgins banged up and Jermaine Burton’s rookie season spiraling.

DE Yannick Ngakoue

The Bengals were one of just two teams to put in a claim on Ngakoue, the veteran who was just waived by Baltimore. But New England had higher priority, so they didn’t get him.

...Rather than find a deal they liked at the trade deadline, the Bengals waited and hoped to find help on the wire. They need rotational depth because for whatever reason, former first-rounder Myles Murphy isn’t playing all that much.

This burns my butt, why isn't he playing more. I've been specifically watching him when he gets in and he's flying around the field. His motor is always running and he doesn't take plays off. His pass rush isn't the best but he's been getting some pressures. Idk why they aren't playing him more... But obviously there's got to be some good reason for it... Right??
