All they lacked with those gaudy, obnoxious uniforms and play was red balls on their noses....MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 12:03 pmI disagree, I thought it was a Browns game, and honestly the product on the field looked like it too!
Re: Bengals vs Pats Game Thread.
Horrendous looking uniforms aside, where is the accountability on this club?
Does SoP hold Zac accountable...?
Does Zac hold his Coordinators accountable...?
Do the Coordinators hold the position coaches accountable...?
Do the coaches hold the players accountable...?
And maybe most importantly, do the Cincy sports writers and media hold anybody accountable...?
Where are the tough questions? Where are the scathing OpEds in the sports pages...? Where's the outrage on social media...?
I honestly wonder if everybody associated with the Bengals just accepts this sort of game as business as usual now. Only we - the fans seem genuinely outraged by yesterdays performance. When you accept mediocrity....mediocrity is what you're going to get.
Maybe when there's only 5K fans in the stands after the club starts out 0-4 again somebody in the Bengals organization will begin to listen.
I sincerely doubt it however.

Another scathing piece...
https://www.daytondailynews.com/sports/ ... 7BU2AD3KY/
From the article:
We saw the Bengals offense operate more efficiently last season after Burrow went down with a season-ending injury because they actually attempted to be balanced, including going under center more, because that creates more opportunities for big plays down the field. Some wondered if that would pay dividends this season upon Burrow’s return, but it comes as little surprise that it didn’t in Week 1 because Burrow doesn’t like going under center, and the coaching staff apparently lacks the will to convince him of the value of doing so.

That is why before the game I was expecting the same slow start to the season like we have seen the prior 5 years. Talyor clearly doesn't see any issues with the way he runs training camp and made no changes.MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 9:08 amNo what I'm saying is that I think Zac puts too much trust in Burrow to be ready and he needs more work in the pre-season. A double edge sword but we've seen it too many times now.Bengals1 wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 8:33 amSo you're saying he's become Bungleized like so many QBS before him...?MeatHeadbengal wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 8:20 am
Just so folks understand, it really wasn't the O-line this week. It was more Burrow not being comfortable and making the O-line look bad. The stat above is from next gen stats.

He made changes, he just didn't make enough changes. We had 2 weeks of practice against other teams and Burrow played 1 series in the preseason. Would it have been different if he played a couple more drives? Who knows.4256 Hits wrote: ↑Mon Sep 09, 2024 2:06 pmThat is why before the game I was expecting the same slow start to the season like we have seen the prior 5 years. We've come full circle Bengal fans....
Paul Dehner Jr. @pauldehnerjr
Zac Taylor: "Defensively, it just came down to tackling."
Mentioned "80-something yards after missed tackles."
"We just need to learn to tackle better."- Marvin Lewis

Re: Bengals vs Pats Game Thread.
this is how i summed up our play to my buddy.
"The Patriots came into our house, ate all the food, drank all the beer, left a turd in the toilet and left with all the girls"
i pretty much feel the same 24 hours later.... maybe even a little bit more angrier
